A Day in the Life: Global Food & Wine Customer Service Centre Staff
From orders being picked and delivered as early as 3:30 am by our amazing delivery drivers to our accounts receivable department ensuring that all the books balance. There is so much going on behind the scenes at Global Food and Wine that goes unseen. Smooth and seamless is our aim and it is only achievable because of our great staff, incredible work culture and ethic. Being the largest family owned food and wine distribution company in Australia, our family culture is infectious and trickles into all aspects of our business.
With over 100 trucks on the road daily in 11 locations across Queensland and 4000 customers, the real unsung hero’s here has to be our wonderful Customer Service staff. On the phones and ready for business at 6:30 for morning shifts and finishing most evening shifts at 11:30. They are always chipper and doing their best to not only ensure that our customers orders are correct but also on time. Their incredible product knowledge and customer service is legendary, often helping customers remember the product they ordered previously through broken explanations and descriptions.
Creating long lasting working relationships with customers they have never physically met. Our Customer Service staff go out of their way to ensure that any forgotten items that may have missed the order deadline will still be delivered on time.
So what is the average day or night shift like for one of call centre staff and what does it take to be successful in this position?
Well, from 6:30 in the morning you’ll find our early bird staff in the office, inputting messages from our overnight voicemail service, checking through app orders, entering email orders and answering those last minute phone calls – all by 7am!
Throughout the day you are welcome to call our customer service team with any queries regarding your delivery, your account, products etc. and they will direct you to the right department.
At 2:30pm our afternoon staff start their shift and are here to answer your calls until 11:30pm Sunday-Friday.
